Australia Mission Centre—Saints Care

Each Sunday we are invited to “share equally” with Mission Tithes for local and world ministries. These stories are provided to keep us in touch with how your contributions to Mission Tithes are spreading the peace of Jesus Christ.

This story, Saints Care, takes us to the Australia Mission Centre. Paul Ferrett relates: We dream of a world that is just and peaceful, where people live in healthy families and strong communities, feel wholeness and find meaning. That’s the vision of Saints Care Ltd., which recently celebrated ten years of providing ministry in Australia. Saints Care Ltd. manages the oblation ministries of the church in Australia, providing benevolent support and programs to those in need due to poverty, suffering or helplessness.

The helping hand of Saints Care stretches throughout Australia. The organization supports several congregations by providing compassionate ministries to local disadvantaged community members. The Brisbane Community of Christ manages Hope Care, a daily ministry to needy residents living in a local mobile home park. Guildford Homestead Community Café congregation provides weekly social services to the disadvantaged. Saints Care also supports a program in Sydney for young people at risk of homelessness, a community center in Perth, independent housing for those in need, as well as direct oblation aid. Full–time ministers, provided through your contributions to World Ministries Mission Tithes, help in the ongoing management and development of Saints Care ministries. C. Blessing on Our Offering

From Psalm 84:10 – 11 (NRSV) adapted we read: God, our protector, keep us in mind; always give strength to your people. For if we can be with you even one day, it is better than a thousand without you.

Sharing our Mission Tithes equally between local and world ministries allows others to share the witness of Jesus Christ. Let us share in the prayer of blessing for our offering.
