A. Disciples’ Generous Response Story: World

Sao Paulo, Brazil—Thank You for Responding Faithfully

Each Sunday we are invited to “share equally” with Mission Tithes for local and world ministries. These stories are provided to keep us in touch with how your contributions to Mission Tithes are spreading the peace of Jesus Christ.

This story, Thank You for Responding Faithfully, takes us to Sao Paulo, Brazil, in the Brazil Mission Center. Carlos Enrique Mejia relates: Sao Paulo, Brazil is one of the largest cities in the world with more than ten million residents. Community of Christ outreach in Sao Paulo is a story of your generosity, and the Saints in Brazil want to say thank – you. Each week full – time missionary coordinator Carlos Carvalho travels to downtown Sao Paulo, along with his wife Fernanda, their son, and other volunteers to offer ministry and to support the leaders of the young and growing Sao Paulo congregation.

Through your World Ministries Mission Tithes, special missionary funding has allowed the church to partner with the Sao Paulo congregation to renovate a church facility large enough for more than two hundred people to gather for worship, ministry, and fellowship. The smiling faces of those who gather are truly sights to behold! May we pray together today for the continued presence of the Holy Spirit in this work as we reach out to the city of Sao Paulo and beyond.
