The following is an update on World Ministries Mission Tithes contributions. A. World Ministries Mission Tithes Update

The church received an estimated $850,000 in World Ministries Mission Tithes in April 2008. Thank you! With two months left in the fiscal year, we are on pace to receive $10.4 million, which is about the same as last year. We are mindful of the great generosity of our contributors, as you continue to support the life-giving ministries of the church even as you are coping with a difficult economy.

Your faithful response is making possible:

• Oblation aid to villagers in Orissa, India, helping to rebuild homes and places of worship after violent attacks swept the area during the past several months.
• Sharing God’s love for each person in churches and homes of the world’s largest cities and the most remote jungle villages—literally bringing the gospel to life: three new congregations in the Philippines with three more underway; twenty new congregations in India; new efforts in Taiwan and Sri Lanka; new friendships in mainland China.
• The participation of more than 40 church leaders from the Asia Mission Field in Ministerial Education and Discipleship Studies, enabling the gospel to reach thousands yearning for hope.

From Doctrine and Covenants 163:2b we read: The restoring of persons to healthy or righteous relationships with God, others, themselves, and the earth is at the heart of the purpose of your journey as a people of faith.

Sharing our Mission Tithes equally between local and world ministries changes lives around the world. Let us share in the prayer of blessing for our offering.
