World Ministries Mission Tithes Contribution Update

The
following is an update on World Ministries Mission Tithes contributions. For
more information and updates on how your contributions to World Ministries
Mission Tithes are spreading the peace of Jesus Christ, read the August

A. World
Ministries Mission Tithes Update
The church received an estimated $750,000 in World
Ministries Mission Tithes in June 2008. Thank you! With the fiscal year now
complete we estimate that we have received a total of $10.2 million for the
year. While this was $200,000 less than we needed to balance the budget, we wish
to express our deep gratitude to all of you who faithfully support our worldwide
ministries.
In the fiscal year that began July 1, we will need to
receive $10.5 million to support our ministries around the world. Here are a few
of those ministry opportunities:

Santiago, Chile – the spirit of community resides in the
first permanent Community of Christ congregation in the nation of Chile. Its
construction was a labor of love for those who, in the southern hemisphere,
hope for the gospel of Jesus Christ and the mission of the Community of
Christ.

Full-time ministry for church planting in Fiji’s
mountainous interior to share the gospel with villagers.

Global community connections of WorldService Corps
volunteers as they share in “ministry without borders.”

Blessing on the Offering
From Doctrine and
Covenants 163:10a we read: "God yearns to draw your close so that wounds may be
healed, emptiness filled, and hope strengthened."
Sharing our offerings
equally between local and world ministries changes lives around the world. Let
us share in the prayer of blessing on our offering.
