A. World Ministries Mission Tithes Update

Dominican Republic—The Promise of Hope

The church received an estimated $675,000 in World Ministries Mission Tithes in February 2008. If contributions continue at the current pace through the end of the fiscal year, we expect to receive about $10.4 million.

Our exciting, life-giving ministries as a worldwide church come through your faithful giving, week in and week out. A few ministries happening right now include:
• Christ's message of love and peace lived out at Hills of Peace Campground by the families who participate in Young Family Camp.
• Oblation Aid to the Saints in the Dominican Republic whose homes were destroyed by Tropical Storm Noel.
• The Hispanic Leadership Development Project engaging more than 25 Hispanic leaders who will help to grow the church in North America.

C. Blessing on Our Offering

From Doctrine and Covenants 162:1 we read: Listen, O people of the Restoration—you who would become a prophetic people, embodying in your life together the ministries of the Temple. Listen to the Voice that speaks from beyond the farthest hills, from the infinite heavens above, and the vast seas below. Listen to the Voice that echoes across the eons of time and yet speaks anew in this moment. Listen to the Voice, for it cannot be stilled, and it calls you once again to the great and marvelous work of building the peaceable kingdom, even Zion, on behalf of the One whose name you claim.

Sharing our Mission Tithes equally between local and world ministries changes lives locally and around the world. Let us share in the prayer of blessing for our offering.
