section.
A. World Ministries Mission Tithes Update
The church received an estimated $725,000 in World Ministries Mission Tithes
in September 2008, $110,000 less than was needed to balance the budget. Three
months into the fiscal year, we are four percent behind the goal of $10.5
million for the year. We are vividly aware of the turbulence in financial
markets worldwide, and understand the concern you, our faithful contributors,
must be feeling about your own investments. We are especially grateful to you
for supporting the church so generously at this time.
Your contributions of $10.5 million support the following ministries around the
world:
- Field ministry to nations such as Russia and Ukraine, reaching thousands
who are hungry for the healing balm of the gospel.
- Field ministry in Sierra Pacific USA Mission Center, making the
connection of justice, Christ’s peace, and loving generosity.
- Missionary outreach in Rio Grande USA Mission Center to help
congregations in living out discipleship in mission and sharing the good
news of Jesus Christ in their communities.
Thank you for responding faithfully by sharing so very generously.
B. Congregational Ministries mission tithes Update: Local
The congregational financial officer should give an update about the
congregation’s budget at this time. Highlight positive things that have happened
in addition to items that need attention.

C. Blessing on Our Offering
From Doctrine and Covenants 163:3b we read: Above all else, strive to be
faithful to Christ’s vision of the peaceable Kingdom of God on earth.
Sharing our Mission Tithes equally between local and world ministries changes
our lives and those who receive the blessings from it. Let us share in the
prayer of blessing for our offering.
