Evangelist: Ministry of Blessing
Gifts and Ministries
The Evangelist's blessing, as a sacred rite of the church,
can assist persons to recognize and touch the divine nature of God that resides within
them. By responding to this divine presence, it nurtures and
assures persons of their identity and ultimate and eternal worth before God.
Apostolic Witness
An apostolic witness lifts up the life, ministry and
resurrection of Jesus so people might recognize and experience Jesus' presence
in their own lives.
Spiritual Companion
The spiritual companion is a follower of Jesus Christ who,
as a disciple, travels with others who are on the same transforming journey of
life. The spiritual companion shares the journey of spiritual development with
others and strives to develop within themselves and encourage in others a
truly authentic relationship with God and a deep sense of the spirit of God in
all of life.
Teacher/Learner
An evangelist as a teacher/learner is a follower of Jesus
the great teacher who calls person to the band of learners who are following
Jesus and introduces them to the witness and message of Jesus Christ.
Pastoral Presence
Through the pastoral presence of the evangelist, God can
encourage, change, heal, comfort, and bless. Being with people has the same
goal as worship: to bring people into the healing presence of the God
of the universe.
