Jeff KingJeff King

Jeff became intrigued with the Auditorium Organ as a small boy…going to conferences, always asking his parents to let him sit by the organ and listening to records of the Auditorium Organ with Bethel Knoche and John Obetz. After several years of piano he began organ lessons in 7th grade. Jeff continued taking organ lessons at the University of Central Missouri with Dr. William McCandless. After college Jeff continued his organ studies with Ted Stewart of the Music and Arts Institute whom he has continued taking lessons privately.

For over ten years he has been on the Community of Christ Organ Staff. After five years as organist at Trinity Lutheran in Raytown, Missouri, he recently became organist at St. Matthew Lutheran in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. As a member of the Kansas City Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, Jeff received the Service Playing Certificate and is currently working on the Colleague Certification.
