Co-Missioned Pastor Initiative

A Letter from the Presidency

Dear Friends:

The church is called to be a strong and dynamic witness of Jesus Christ. A primary way to contribute to this goal is to more effectively equip the pastoral leadership of our congregations.

We need strong congregations where vibrant worship is central, the Christian faith is taught and lived out, and pastoral nurture is evident. Healthy congregations gather not only for these reasons but also to invite and welcome others, and then to send their members forth to serve the broader community.

Congregations deserve well-equipped and energetic pastors who are sensitive to the movement of the Spirit. The church is blessed by pastors who understand their congregation’s mission to minister to the needs of twenty-first century people.

The gospel message is strong and vital. People need the influence of Jesus Christ in their lives and are called to share in the blessings of community building.

We are excited to present to the church the Co-Missioned Pastor Initiative, and are certain it will have a transforming impact on the church in Canada and the United States.
