Co-Missioned Pastor Initiative

Application Information and Directions

The following will assist you in submitting the required applications for the Co-Missioned Pastor Initiative. May you sense the Spirit of God as you give this process your prayerful attention.

  1. Copies of the Pastor Application and Congregation Application can be obtained from the Web site at www.CofChrist.org/co-missioned (see links at bottom of this page), from your mission center president, or by contacting CPI Coordinator Tom Mountenay at (816) 833-1000, ext. 2404; 1-800-825-2806, ext. 2404; or tmountenay@CofChrist.org.

  2. Applications from the pastor (Pastor Application) and the congregation (Congregation Application) must be submitted together. Before these applications are submitted, it is expected that the pastor and congregation will discuss the Co-Missioned Pastor Initiative opportunity together, and mutually agree to participate.

     
  3. Both applications are to be submitted to the mission center president, who will then forward them with a recommendation to CPI Coordinator Tom Mountenay. Please consult with your mission center president as consideration is given to submitting these applications. Your mission center president can assist you in the application process.

  4. Applications are being accepted at World Headquarters and will be given consideration for subsequent start dates. Mission center presidents may submit applications to tmountenay@CofChrist.org or Community of Christ World Headquarters, ATTN: Tom Mountenay - Co-Missioned Pastor Initiative, 1001 W. Walnut, Independence, MO 64050.

  5. Once applications are received, selection of pastors and their congregations will be made through a multi-step process of which you will be advised.

Applications are Microsoft Word document files.  Click on the link below to open the file.  Go to the "File" menu, select "Save As," and save the document to your hard drive.  You may fill out the application electronically and submit it via e-mail or postal mail to your mission center president.

NOTE:  If a dialogue box opens requesting a network password, select "Cancel." You will then be able to save the document to your hard drive or print it.
