In January 2002, the United Nations in Special
Session revisited their 1986 Declaration on the Rights of the Child.
During this session they listened not only to heads of state,
medical, social, and educational specialists, but also to kids about
what issues most impacted them. As a culmination to their
discussion, they developed a new list of ten rights which every
child should have. Included in the January 2003 Connections Box is a
coloring poster on the Rights of the Child to be used with the March
23rd lesson.
The poster is available below as a free download.
Adobe
Acrobat Reader is required for viewing and printing the poster.
We encourage you to print and copy the poster for each kid. Print a
copy of the Rights of the Child Poster to read through and discuss as kids
color the Right of the Child coloring page. Display the kids' artwork in the
congregation to inform others or let kids share them in their
schools. The print size is 8.5" x 11"; however, you may wish to
enlarge the coloring page for younger children. |
