The camp theme “Grounded in Jesus” has its beginnings in
the sermon presented by Community of Christ President, Steve Veazey at
the 2005 World Conference. He challenged us to be continually grounded
in the message and peace of Jesus Christ. It is from that point our
mission and message can grow. Daily themes focus on Hope, Love,
Disciple, Peace, and Testify. Theme class studies come from John 15.
Each lesson also includes a quote from President Veazey’s sermon that
brings focus back to our calling as disciples of Jesus Christ today.
Morning devotions bring a story of Jesus to life, using the record of
his actions to help guide our understanding of each day’s themes. Cabin
devotions bring each day to a close by connecting us to the Jesus so
many people have loved and worshiped from the time they were little
children even if they did not attend church regularly—the Jesus we meet
at Christmas.
