R. PAUL DAVIS
R. Paul Davis, a minister for Community of Christ, is a member of the
Presiding Bishopric, the leading financial council of the church. He was
ordained to the priesthood office of bishop and assigned as a counselor to the
presiding bishop in June 2005.
Previous assignments include president and financial officer of Southern
California USA Mission Center, president of Greater Los Angeles Stake, and
president and stewardship commissioner of Seattle Stake. His other leadership
roles in the church include presiding elder of the Everett, Washington, and
Boise, Idaho, congregations. He also served as Boise District President.
Born in London, Ontario, Canada, Paul received a bachelor of science degree
in economics, mathematics, and computer science from Graceland College, Lamoni,
Iowa, in 1981. He completed a master of arts in religion from Park College,
Parkville, Missouri, in 1998. Prior to accepting full-time appointment in August
1995, Paul spent fourteen years as a software engineer for Hewlett-Packard in
Colorado, Washington, and Idaho.
Paul is married to Jeanne (Sundell) Davis, an artist. They have three
children, Mike, Jake, and Julie. His hobbies are bicycling and woodworking.
