DAVID R. BROCK
David R. Brock was ordained as the Presiding Evangelist in March 2007. He is
called to expand the role of the evangelists around the world as ministers of
blessing and spiritual companionship, as minister of revival, and as ministers
of sanctuary where people can come and rest in the peace of Jesus Christ.
A full-time minister since 1978, he was ordained as a president of seventy at
the 1988 World Conference and as an apostle at the 1992 World Conference.
Previous assignments included the Pacific Field, the Southwest Field, the North
Central Field, administrator and stewardship commissioner of the Africa Region,
assistant to the Council of Twelve, and Southwest Region staff member.
A native of Kansas City, Kansas, he graduated from Meridian High School in
Idaho, attended Graceland College in Iowa, received a bachelor of science degree
from the School of Community Service and Public Affairs at the University of
Oregon, and a master of arts in religion from Park University. Brock has done
further studies at the Instituto de Filología Hispánica, Saltillo, Mexico; the
Alliance Francaise, Nairobi, Kenya; Berlitz Language School, St. Louis,
Missouri; St. Paul School of Theology and the Nazarene Theological Seminary,
both in Kansas City, Missouri; and the Center for Creative Leadership,
Greensboro, North Carolina.
He is married to Carolyn Petrie Brock. They have one daughter, Emily Psalm. His
hobbies include intercultural relations, international travel, foreign
languages, baseball, poetry, reading, and sitting on the back porch with friends
and family.
