Thank you for joining us in worship, and we
welcome you in the name of our God to this sacred place. Each day in
this Temple dedicated to the pursuit of peace, we pray to God for peace
in our world. In addition, each day we pray for a different country.
Today we will remember the people of Macau in our prayers. Located in
Eastern Asia, Macau was the first European settlement in the Far East,
colonized by the Portuguese in the 16th century. Pursuant to an
agreement signed by China and Portugal in April of 1987, Macau became
the Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China in December 1999.
China has promised that, under its "one country, two systems" formula,
China's socialist economic system will not be practiced in Macau, and
that Macau will enjoy a high degree of autonomy in all matters except
foreign and defense affairs.
From different places and with different needs we have come to this
place. Yet, as we sit in the presence of God's spirit, we become one.
Welcome to this time of prayer for peace. |

First Maker, Creator of All Things,
In this place and time of peace, we thank You for your everlasting
presence. We thank You for all of the many things you have created that
witness to each of us of Your peace and grace.
Open our eyes to see the aura of Your presence in all of creation.
Unstop our ears to hear your slightest whisper in the song of the winged
ones, the padding of the four-legged, the wind in those that stand
rooted and tall, or in the splash of those that swim.
Bring your peace into our everyday lives that we may be reflective of
You to all we meet. May that reflection of You in our lives bring peace
that is passed on to others.
In praise and thanksgiving of all we are, and all You have created us to
be, may we grow in your peace. Amen. |

| Sending Forth |
| |
We conclude our service today with ministry of music. We
invite you to remain in the quiet of this place to pray or meditate for
as long as you may wish.
As your hearts have been touched by the gentle spirit of peace, go, and
carry that touch to others. The God of Peace will be your guide. |
