connecting the Community of Christ staff community
New CLW in 2008
CLW 2008 will be the premiere Congregational Life Workshop. This exciting
event will build on the successful history of the former Congregational Leaders
Workshops with an updated emphasis on priesthood, pastor, and disciple
formation. The July 27–August 1 week of classes, ministry, and activities will
be aligned with our emphasis on sharing the peace of Jesus Christ. Participants
will explore the healthy congregation model, which has found success through our
Co-Missioned Pastor Initiative (CPI). There will also be opportunities for
learning to implement guidelines for age-specific disciple formation and the
“missional leader” discernment process.
To allow for appropriate planning processes, and in light of the upcoming
World Conference, there will be no CLW in 2007. Your understanding and support
is appreciated as this significant congregational event is developed for 2008.
New Displays in Meeting Rooms
If you have been to a meeting in the Temple recently, you may have noticed
new plasma display panels in the Independence room, Seminar room, Council room,
and the Council of Twelve conference room.
All four rooms are equipped with DVD/VCR combo playback decks and the plasma
displays can be used with a laptop PC and the provided cables. Each of these
four meetings spaces have teleconference equipment. All of this equipment needs
to stay in these rooms so our staff doesn’t have to chase it down when it gets
moved.
Basic operations—power on/off, input select, and volume—are done with the
remote located in each room. When selecting a different input please pause
briefly between button-pushes as the panel is a little slow to respond. Each
room has a yellow emergency sheet with contact information.
If you need assistance during regular office hours, call ext. 2436 or ext.
2488 to reach Bob or Paul Haworth. If they aren’t near the phone, leave a
message and they will return your call. After hours, call ext. 2389 and leave a
message with a number where you can be reached. That line will page Bob and Paul
directly.
If you need display or teleconference equipment for a meeting room other than
these four, please contact the Help Desk at
infosys@CofChrist.org.

Tech Requests for World Conference
Need technical support during World Conference? The Tech Support team created
a simple form you’ll need to fill out at

information about your Conference telephone, copier, printer, and computer
needs.
E-mail Migration “Go Live” Date Set
The E-mail Migration team has set April 16, 2007, as its “go live” date.
This date was originally set for February 20, 2007, but when the project team
reviewed the schedule they realized it was too aggressive and could negatively
impact World Conference. The revised date will allow the team to better prepare
for the switch from Novell GroupWise to Microsoft Outlook. Please continue to
look at TeamCentral
http://cofchrist.netcipia.net/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Microsoft+Exchange+Migration
for information regarding the migration.
Reserving Technical Equipment
If you need to check out equipment like an LCD projector, please send an
appointment e-mail to the following three e-mail addresses:
Include what piece of equipment you need and the date/s you will be using the
equipment. A return e-mail will be sent with the request status and pickup
instructions.
