Don't Miss Out
Today, June 30, is the last day to submit applications for approximately
24 new positions at International Headquarters. Think outside the box as you
consider all of the posted positions and how your giftedness might apply.
Several incumbent positions have come open and are posted for International
Headquarters and the field. These positions will remain open for various
durations. Check the
Human Resource Ministries page for specific details. If
there are questions regarding any position posting or application process,
contact Kathy Marek by e-mail or at ext.
3061.
Interviews for the position postings closing on June 30, 2006, will begin
the week of July 10. Accommodations for travel schedules will be made
as much as possible. If you have applied
and will not be able to interview in person, please provide Human Resource
Ministries with a telephone number where you can be reached for the
telephone interview.
Redesign News
The Implementation Team continues to work on transition issues. Support
service teams that provide ongoing assistance in areas like facilities,
legal, technology, and accounting are identifying team leads and members.
They are completing team charters and continue to look for aspects of their
support that will incorporate cross-functionality.
Several simulations testing resource-production capacity are taking place
for the Herald, International Herald, e-Herald, Worship Resources, and Power
and Light. The information gathered will help inform future decisions about
the time and effort such projects require. This information will also help
us create a process that considers language, culture, delivery media, and
other critical communication factors when a resource is first envisioned.
Additionally, new processes for one-stop customer service and multimedia
communications are being created.
A general
news release about the redesign and the redeployment is available
on the Web.
International Headquarters
Offices in the Auditorium and Temple will be closed July 3 and 4. In instances where staff are occupied with reunions, camps, and
basic visitor and security services in our buildings in Independence, we
expect the individuals to arrange with their supervisors to take a
compensatory holiday day at some other time. Enjoy the long weekend and be
safe!
Frequently Asked Question
Anonymous questions continue to be received via the website link at
www.formrouter.net/forms@COFC/NewsPeaceAskAQuestion.html.
Q: When will help with the outplacement process begin, and who and
what company will be doing it?
A:
Human Resource Ministries has contracted with Drake Beam Morin for
outplacement counseling services. This service is available to staff who
have been involuntarily separated and can be used in person, over the
telephone, or via the Internet by both headquarters and field staff. Please
contact Kathy Marek by e-mail or at ext.
3061 for further details.
Q: How fair is it that the quorum assistants were able to keep
their jobs without having to re-apply? That does not seem
right. Also, how fair is it that they do not have to fill out a work
history, do a competency sort, and be interviewed? Maybe there is someone
that could do their job better.
A: The principle that has been followed throughout the redesign process
is that the only positions that were posted were positions that were newly
created by the redesign or positions where the skill sets required changed
by more than 30 percent. Applying this principle, there were multiple positions
that were considered unchanged by the design, including several
administrative assistant positions. Consistent application of the principle
was considered the most just practice in making decisions regarding
positions.
