Redesign News
The Mission Support Ministries Implementation Team met on Tuesday and
Thursday, May 30 and June 1, to continue the work of the redesign. Their work
on identifying the specific positions in the redesign is nearing completion.
This work establishes which existing positions will be part of the redesign,
which positions will be eliminated in the redesign, and which positions have
been created by the redesign.
Individual notification of Mission Support Ministries staff regarding the
status of their current position in the redesign will occur during the week of
June 12.
Downsizing notifications for World Church ministers assigned in the field
have begun and are scheduled to be completed by mid-June.
A presentation on the Mission Support Ministries redesign and the field
redeployment plan will be provided the week of June 12 at the Temple and via
webcast.
If you are on staff in Mission Support Ministries (headquarters) and will
be on vacation or on assignment during the week of June 12, please let your
supervisor know if you wish to be contacted by phone regarding the status of
your position when the information is available. If you do not leave contact
information and if you do not specifically request notification by phone, you
will be notified of the status of your position on your first day back in the
office following the week of June 12.
The people working through the ongoing process of Mission Support
Ministries redesign and field redeployment have been blessed by the many
prayers offered on their behalf. We give thanks to everyone for this prayerful
support. Leadership is also tremendously grateful for everyone's willingness
to continue to provide for the ministries and support of the church through
this difficult journey of transition. We give thanks for the courage and
compassion that is being demonstrated by our employee community.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why are we hiring "couples" in the same family at headquarters and in
the field? Is it fair to have married couples working here when there are so
many people needing jobs?
A: All staff are selected from applications received. Decisions to hire are
based on an individual’s qualifications for the position.
Q: Remind me again what is provided in the severance package?
A: You can read or print the details about the severance package by
clicking here.
Around Headquarters
Another graduation celebration…Beverly Byrd’s son, Tony, graduated from
Truman High School this spring. Congratulations!
Traveling to different offices here in the Auditorium and Temple tells a
story all its own. So often, offices reflect the personalities and individual
interests of those working here. Collections of plants, globes, angels, and
more provide reflection for the work and ministries provided. Some displays
may be quite obscure and not in highly trafficked areas. The challenge issued
in this NewsPEACE edition is, “Do you know where the papier mâché dinosaur
resides?”
