IHQ Move
Moving boxes are here and the office move will take place December 11-16.
Check out
TeamCentral::CofChrist for the most current information about the move.
Human Resources has announced casual dress code during the move and transition
time. Our normal dress code will be relaxed during the next few weeks while
everyone gets settled in their new locations.
Transition Information Update
Updates are
available on the 2007 event calendar, study opportunities, Temple School, and
Power & Light.
E-group Meeting Reminder
Enrichment group meetings are scheduled for a variety of times on Wednesday,
December 6. Watch for e-mail from your e-group leader for specifics.
Advent Worship
Come and celebrate the joyful season of Advent at the annual community
worship on Sunday, December 10, at 7 p.m. in the Temple sanctuary. Traditional
Christmas carols, scriptures, a message from Paul Davis, and the pageantry of
the Nativity blend together to create a beautiful experience. Each child will
have the chance to walk with the wise men to see Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus.
Adults and children alike will delight in the big surprise at the conclusion of
worship! For those outside the Kansas City area, the service will be webcast
live via the Internet. Visit
www.CofChrist.org Sunday evening for the link.
Staff Recognition Reminder
The staff recognition event on December 13 at 3 p.m. in the Auditorium lower
assembly room will be a wonderful time to honor our co-workers. Come and enjoy
fellowship and refreshments.
Holiday Hours at IHQ
Headquarters offices will be closed and the activity schedule will be
modified from Saturday, December 23 to Monday, January 1. Guided tours, Museum,
Children’s Peace Pavilion, and the Temple Bookstore will not be available during
this time. These activities will resume their regularly scheduled hours on
Tuesday, January 2. The Temple sanctuary will be open for the Prayer for Peace
held from 12:30 to 12:45 p.m. each day and free organ recitals will be held on
December 24 in the Temple sanctuary and December 31 in the Auditorium chamber at
3 p.m.
E-mail Migration Notice
Community of Christ has awarded Centerbeam (www.centerbeam.com)
a contract to replace our current GroupWise system with the industry standard
Microsoft Exchange. This change is being made, in part, to move the organization
to a more robust mail system that will be more reliable and accessible to both
headquarters and field staff. It will allow staff to view private and team
calendars, share documents more effectively, and collaborate more richly than
today's current environment. This will also allow staff with PDA's and
Smartphones to synchronize their calendar, contacts, and e-mail easily.
For the first time, field staff will be given an e-mail address with the
CofChrist.org domain (e.g. jpinkerton@CofChrist.org). This will allow the
organization to communicate with all staff from a centrally managed address
book. This will help International Headquarters communicate effectively with all
staff. GroupWise users will migrate to the new system after February 1, 2007.
More details to follow.
Conference Legislation
Two World Conference resolutions have been received and can be viewed at
www.CofChrist.org/wc2007/legislation07. New resolutions will be posted here
as well.
Staff Discount
Staff members are encouraged to register early for World Conference.
Full-time staff receive a half off discount and part-time staff and volunteers
are eligible for a $5 discount.
Office Move Changes
Several additional changes have been made to the final office move locations
based on additional feedback, reflections, and discussions by a variety of
people. The following changes have been made:

Recycling Changes

manila folders, post-its, envelopes, envelopes with windows, and magazines with
a stapled spine, are all recyclable and can all go into one bin. Cardboard,
anything with a glued spine, including books and magazines, carbon paper, blue
prints, newspapers, labels, stickers, phone books, are all non-recyclable and
can go directly into the normal trash.
