Deadline Changes:

Transition into the new organizational design will be finalizing in the next few months. Previously, the World Church Human Resource Committee had established December 31, 2006 as the final date to accept voluntary separation and receive the severance benefit. This date was based on the uncertainty of when staffing changes would be complete. Since staffing the redesign is being completed this summer, the World Church Human Resource Committee is moving the deadline to declare intentions for voluntary separation to September 1, 2006. Intent to apply for voluntary separation must be made in writing to Human Resource Ministries by the September 1 date. Upon written notice of intent, the actual separation date will then be decided between the employee and Human Resource Ministries.

Info to Know…

…People have been asking when office locations will be changing. It is anticipated that there will be a few immediate moves that are viewed as temporary at this time. Plans are being finalized regarding a process to help minimize the number of temporary moves. Please be patient as we all work for the best solutions possible.

…Remember that even as positions are being filled, the organization is still in a transitional phase. Unless notified, continue to follow your current reporting structure. In the coming weeks watch for announcements and information as to when this reporting structure will change to the new organizational design.

...Please note that position postings no longer have closing dates since we have completed the major position fill process associated with the redesign. For the current postings and future postings, we will be interviewing qualified internal and external candidates for positions as applications are received. People who have already applied for any of the current positions posted will have interviews arranged by Human Resources Ministries in the next few weeks.  Postings will be removed once a position is filled.

...The transition period is actively being engaged at this point.  Individuals may be called upon at different times to engage in small group discussions and participated in the process of how their work is going to be designed.  This transition process is being led by John Pinkerton.  Questions and comments should be directed to John.  Everyone has done a great job through the summer and ask for continued patience as we move from how work has been happening to how work will happen in the future.

…Mark your calendars now for Tuesday, September 12, at 6 p.m. you and your family are invited for Dessert on the World Plaza followed by a concert by Edith Wallace in the Temple sanctuary. Also, keep your calendars open for Breakfast Discussions on Thursday, September 14, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. All employees and volunteers will be receiving invitations soon to join this morning discussion regarding the organizational structure and processes. Following breakfast staff and volunteers are invited to continue discussion in their respective Enrichment Groups from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Invitations will be sent via email the week of August 21.
