MEADS Ministerial Education and Discipleship Studies

The Community of Christ Seminary and Temple School co-sponsor the MEADS (Ministerial Education and Discipleship Studies) program. The courses offer a concentrated study of foundational theology, church history, scripture, and practical ministry formation.

This exciting curriculum is open to anyone interested in ministerial and discipleship development and now has two options for study:

  • enroll in the full 12-course certificate program that seeks to empower participants for ministry, or
  • enroll in individual classes on a particular subject of interest without committing to the full 12-course program.

Register for one class per session for $88 or two classes per session for $175.  You may audit a class for $50.  MEADS classes take place twice a year at the Temple in Independence, Missouri in February and August.

Being formed as disciples is an important part of our faith movement. The MEADS program gives people the opportunity to be part of a safe community that encourages spiritual formation, asking questions, and a deeper understanding of core topics through exceptional instructors and class discussion.

Whether you choose the single-class option or complete the 240-hour certificate program, MEADS is a commitment of time and resources by the student and the church to prepare individuals for faithful, accountable service.
