What is IYF?

IYF refers to the International Youth Forum. This event is an international gathering where youth from around the world come together to celebrate and claim their place in the Community of Christ. Held every four years, IYF is truly a once-in-a-lifetime event you don't want to miss!

IYF, c’est quoi? 

IYF est l’abréviation de International Youth Forum, le Forum International des Jeunes. C’est un rassemblement international de jeunes venus du monde entier pour célébrer et revendiquer leur place dans la Communauté du Christ. IYF a lieu tous les quatre ans et c’est véritablement un évènement unique de toute une vie que tu ne veux pas rater!

Sites for 2009

“ONE” is the theme for IYF 2009.

More than 1,400 youths, 250 youth leaders, and 40 church leaders from International Headquarters and field leadership will unite to laugh, play, sing, and worship God. Watch, budget, and prepare for the mystery of “ONE” to unfold. Further details and materials will be provided as planning progresses.

IYF Bangkok: May 24-30, 2009
IYF Malawi: June 24-30, 2009
IYF Honduras: July 4-11, 2009
IYF Independence, MO USA: July 21-24, 2009

Information is being finalized regarding partnering among Canada and United States mission centers for travel to these sites. For further information, contact Poul Wilson at ext. 2357.

The IYF in Independence will continue to be followed by SPECTACULAR, held at Graceland University, in Lamoni, Iowa, July 25–August 1. As planning continues, the objectives will be to identify, develop, and provide programming that emphasizes how the peace of Jesus Christ unites us in mission around the world. There will be more field involvement in planning the 2009 IYF, and the planning committee will include more youth and youth leaders in both planning and implementation of the event.
