Mission Tithes are given to the church in response to the call: “There are many lives waiting to hear the redeeming words of the gospel, or to be lifted up from hopelessness by the hands of loving servants. But they will be lost to you without the generous response of disciples who share from their own bounty that others may know the joys of the kingdom” (Doctrine and Covenants 162:7a). Contributions to Local and World Mission Tithes provide the funding for outreaching ministries in our own congregation, mission center, and around the world.
Disciples generally give Mission Tithes during worship services by using offering envelopes requested from their home congregation financial officer (CFO). The receipt received for these contributions allows disciples to track the progress in reaching their individual sharing goal. Contributions mailed to the congregation, mission center, or Community of Christ World Headquarters will also be receipted.
