For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.
“Lord, Who Views All People Precious,” Community of Christ Sings 637
Lord, who views all people precious, worthy, lovely in your sight;
who, through mercy and compassion, calls us forward into light,
we accept the great commission.
May we, strengthened by your power,
join with Christ in common purpose serving nobly in this hour.
Heal the bruised and brokenhearted, those enmeshed in sin and strife;
by the Spirit, grant your people wholeness in this earthly life.
God of reconciliation, we, your people offer praise for your grace
and patient guidance as this prayer, with joy, we raise. Amen.
Prayer Phrase
“…my God turns my darkness into light” (Psalm 18:28).
Spiritual Practice
Light
Close your eyes and become centered with your breath. As you breathe gently in and out, reflect on the statement, “The light of God is in all things.” The light has a bright, soft beauty and radiates God’s healing love. The light of God reaches you and permeates you with a deep sense of peace. Rest in the light as it surrounds and fills you. Thank God that you live in God’s light, and it lives in you.
